Inversions
• To invert means to go inside-out, or upside-down.
Simply said, you move another note to the bottom of the stack.
You can invert an interval by swapping the quality and quantity:
Quantity:• Unison <-> Octave
• 2nd <-> 7th
• 3rd <-> 6th
• 4th <-> 5th
Quality:
• Major <-> Minor
• Augmented <-> Diminished
• Perfect <-> Perfect
